4. I have a pair of gates
fitted to brick pillars and the hinges are in the centre of the
pier. What would you recommend?
It may not be
possible to fit rams, therefore we will have to choose the option of
either a cantilever arm motor (Veloce) or our underground motors.

5. What is the advantage of
the cantilever arm motor?
This system will fit almost
any type of gate, and is designed especially to use with gates
mounted on brick pillars and where geometry is limited. It is also
very simple to install. Back to

6. What is the advantage of
underground motors?
Underground systems are often
preferred to rams on residential properties as they are not seen
when installed and they will also fit almost any application. Back to

7. Do you have a motor that
opens further than 90°?
Yes, our Sub 180 underground
motor is specially designed to open up to 180°. Back to

8. Are the systems easy to
install?
We would recommend that you seek the
services of a competant installer/electrician, but with a
user-friendly instruction manual and any advice supplied by our
technical team, a successful diy installation can be achieved. Back to
top
9. How do I know if my
chosen motor will fit my gates before I order?
An
installation manual can be supplied which shows the exact fitting
dimensions for your chosen motor and our office staff will supply
you with any information you require to feel confident with the
installation of the system. Back to
top
10. How do I operate the
gates in the event of a power failure?
All motors
incorporate a manual release lock so that with one simple turn of a
key, your gates are able to open manually. Back to
top
11. Are the gates secure
when they are closed?
All motors have a self locking
mechanism when they are in the closed position, providing there is
an existing centre stop in the ground for the gates to rest against.
An additional electric lock can be fitted to give complete security.

12. What safety features
are incorporated in your kits?
A pair of safety
photocells is supplied as standard. These give a constant infa-red
beam between the gate pillars, which stops the gates from closing if
there is an obstruction such as a car or pedestrian. Additional
safety equipment can be supplied if required. Back to

13. What is the range of
the hand-held transmitters?
The standard receiver
unit has a range of 30-40 m but if a further distance is needed, we
can supply an external receiver unit which increases the range to
approximately 80 m. Back to

14. How will I know if
there are visitors at the gate when it is closed?
An
intercom can be installed which has a call button at the gate and a
telephone hand set and release button in the house. This will allow
you to communicate with visitors and open the gates for them. Back to
top
15. How do visitors enter
the premises when no one is in the house?
A range of
access control equipment can be supplied to best suit your personal
requirements. For easy access a push button is ideal, but for
greater security a keypad may benefit. Back to
